Job summary

JPS Tech Solutions in Reston, VA seeks a Senior Full Stack Engineer with 9+ years of software development experience to design, build, deploy, and monitor scalable cloud-based applications using Node.js, AWS, serverless architectures, microservices, and React.js.

You will own backend APIs, develop full-stack features, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment, while implementing CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of software development experience.
• Expert-level Node.js development skills.
• Strong JavaScript / TypeScript experience.
• Hands-on experience developing microservices and distributed systems.
• Full-stack development experience with React.js.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture and design patterns.
• Strong hands-on AWS experience with Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, SNS/SQS, Step Functions, IAM, CloudWatch, RDS, AWS CLI, AWS X-Ray / Cloud Observability.
• Experience with SQL, relational databases, and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with CI/CD, Git, Jenkins, Ansible, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Knowledge of CloudFormation or similar IaC technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable cloud-based applications.
• Build serverless applications and microservices using AWS.
• Develop backend APIs and services using Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Develop full-stack applications using Node.js and React.js.
• Design distributed and event-driven architectures.
• Work with AWS services including Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, SNS/SQS, RDS, Step Functions, IAM, and CloudWatch.
• Build monitoring and observability solutions for high-volume data services.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Participate in architecture, technical design, and code reviews.
• Create technical documentation, specifications, and unit tests.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve application performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Leverage AI coding assistants and AI agents to improve development, testing, and automation while maintaining ownership of the code.
