Job summary

Salesforce seeks a Senior/Lead/Principal Software Engineer for the Foundations Team, building scalable cloud infrastructure and critical systems powering operations. Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development, backend focus, on cloud/infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of Go, Python, TypeScript or Ruby and cloud tech.
• Experience with IaC tools: Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation or Pulumi.
• Containerization with Kubernetes, Docker, and orchestration experience.
• Observability with DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana or ELK stack.
• Database familiarity: PostgreSQL or similar, data warehousing basics.
• AI-assisted development tools experience is a plus; smart tooling mindset.
• Education: B.S. or Master’s in Computer Science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Architect & build secure, scalable cloud infrastructure on public clouds.
• Continuously optimize performance and remove bottlenecks at scale.
• Lead CI/CD evolution across multiple services to reduce complexity.
• Manage infrastructure using IaC for faster, reliable changes.
• Enhance observability and alerting to ensure system health.
• Document runbooks, standards, and architecture diagrams.
• Mentor engineers and promote engineering excellence.
• Adapt quickly in a startup-minded, fast-moving environment.
