Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group, LLC is seeking a GIS Cloud Solutions Architect to shape complex GIS environments, modernize critical platforms, and guide strategic cloud decisions. You will own architecture, mentor teams, and work with delivery and business development professionals on engagements from strategy to implementation.

You will lead discussions on cloud strategy, migration, security, and cost optimization while translating technical decisions into clear business value for major client

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of architecture decisions for enterprise GIS across cloud, hybrid and on-prem environments.
• Design scalable, secure, resilient cloud architectures for GIS workloads.
• Help modernize platforms and migrate apps, databases, and infra to the cloud.
• Develop architecture approaches for compute, storage, identity, security, integration, availability and DR.
• Identify risks and single points of failure; propose practical fixes.
• Evaluate VM, container and cloud-native deployment options.
• Provide deep technical guidance through solution design and delivery.
• Architect environments supporting enterprise GIS apps, services and integrations.
• Translate requirements into high-level architectures and ready designs.
• Guide sizing, configuration, performance tuning, scalability and monitoring.
• Support containerized and Kubernetes environments where appropriate.
• Design workloads capable of supporting demanding compute/GPU use cases.
• Turn customer challenges into practical, deliverable solutions.
• Collaborate with sales and consulting on technical approaches.
• Review requirements and procurement docs to identify viable cloud solutions.
• Contribute architecture, scope, estimates, schedules and content for proposals.
• Develop cloud consumption and budget estimates for ROI.
• Advise on HA, DR, multi-zone and multi-region architectures.
• Raise the quality and consistency of cloud architecture across the organization.
• Provide architecture guidance to engineering, QA, training and managed-services teams.
• Establish patterns for cloud security, monitoring, automation, reliability.
• Review deliverables for quality and alignment with customer needs.
• Mentor colleagues in cloud and GIS technologies.
