Job summary

HM Electronics is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Cloud Engineering team in Carlsbad, CA. You will design, develop, and support scalable cloud-based applications powering HM’s products and customer experiences.

The ideal candidate has deep full-stack experience with Node.js and React, works well with Azure cloud environments, and optimizes database design and performance. Hybrid work is available.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years with Node.js for backend services and React for modern web apps.
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills and REST API experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain cloud-native applications and services.
• Build responsive web apps using React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS.
• Develop scalable RESTful APIs and backend services with Node.js.
• Design secure integrations between internal and external systems.
• Create and optimize SQL database schemas and queries.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering standards.
