Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join the Nitro Firmware Team working at the intersection of EC2 hardware and software.

You will contribute to updating firmware across the fleet and developing tools for measurement, deployment, and monitoring at scale. You will collaborate with EC2, silicon designers, and hardware engineers to enable new platforms and improve reliability, with a strong emphasis on Test-Driven Development and automated

Qualifications

• 6+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 6+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 4+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on software development including design reviews, implementation, code reviews, new platform enablement, automated test development and monitoring at scale.
• Collaborate with Principal engineers from EC2, silicon designers, hardware engineers, and external partners to develop robust mechanisms to update firmware across the fleet.
• Maintain and improve firmware deployment tooling and processes for scale and reliability.
