Job summary

Pantheon Data in the Washington, DC area is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to lead the operational management of AWS GovCloud (US) environments, including Generative AI and SageMaker workloads, with a focus on 99.9% availability and strict compliance.

You will partner with DevSecOps, implement Terraform-based multi-account setups, and act as the escalation point for developers and cloud engineers while upholding FedRAMP High, NIST 800-53, and CMMC controls.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on AWS experience, with at least 3 years in AWS GovCloud.
• Familiarity with managing LLM infrastructure and RAG pipelines.
• Terraform skills, including remote state management in cross-account setups.
• Advanced knowledge of VPC architecture, ABAC/RBAC IAM, and KMS encryption.
• Operational tooling experience with SSM, Config, CloudWatch; observability focus.
• Understanding of FedRAMP High, NIST SP 800-53, CMMC controls.
• Ability to work effectively in remote, cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Provision and manage multi-account AWS GovCloud environments using Terraform and AWS Organizations.
• Cloud operations including automated patching, backups, and monitoring via CloudWatch.
• Security updates and vulnerability remediation based on Inspector and Security Hub findings; ensure endpoints meet FIPS 140-3.
• Partner with DevSecOps to integrate GHAS into deployment workflows and assist developers with cloud issues.
• Lead root-cause analysis for production and staging incidents.
