Job summary

RapidScale is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to advance cloud infrastructure, automation, and security in a fast-paced enterprise setting.

You will build PowerShell automation, deploy IaC with Terraform and CloudFormation, and collaborate across teams using GitHub to deliver scalable, reliable services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 4 years’ experience in a related field.
  • Hands-on scripting and automation experience in enterprise environments.
  • Cloud engineering experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or hybrid environments.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement improvements in processes, procedures, and technical systems.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize product delivery timelines and service performance.
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for enterprise-scale automation.
  • Design and deploy automation across large environments (500K+ endpoints).
  • Build internal tooling for configuration drift detection and remediation.
  • Optimize script performance with runspaces, scheduled tasks, and throttling.
  • Collaborate with teams using GitHub for version control and reviews.
  • Create and maintain Power BI dashboards integrating multiple data sources.
  • Explore automation opportunities and maintain infrastructure-as-code.
  • Provide expert troubleshooting and ensure cloud security best practices.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about driving innovation in cloud technologies. You will play a critical role in identifying and implementing improvements across our cloud infrastructure, enhancing automation, and ensuring the scalability and stability of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently identify and implement improvements in processes, procedures, and technical systems.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize product delivery timelines and service performance.
  • Develop and maintain advanced PowerShell scripts with robust parameter validation, reusable functions/modules, and dynamic logic to support enterprise-scale automation.
  • Design and deploy remediation and automation solutions across large-scale environments (500K+ endpoints), ensuring reliability and performance.
  • Build and support internal tooling for configuration drift detection and vulnerability remediation.
  • Optimize script performance using runspaces, scheduled tasks, and throttling techniques.
  • Collaborate with internal teams using GitHub for version control, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
  • Create and maintain Power BI dashboards by integrating multiple data sources to deliver actionable insights and reporting.
  • Continuously explore and implement automation opportunities, demonstrating a self-driven and innovative mindset.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code to streamline deployment and operations.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues, providing expert-level troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Ensure best practices in cloud architecture, security, and compliance are consistently applied.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 4 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and 2 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience; or 8 years’ experience in a related field
  • Proven hands‑on experience with scripting and automation in enterprise environments using industry standard languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, GoLang).
  • Proven experience in cloud engineering with a focus on AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or hybrid environments.
  • Strong understanding of automation frameworks and performance optimization strategies.
  • Experience with Git for source control and collaborative development.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Self‑motivated and passionate about scripting, automation, and continuous improvement.
  • Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, and security principles.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code frameworks and methodologies (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.) Strong communication skills and a customer‑centric mindset.
