Job summary

Visual Soft, Inc. seeks a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer to design, automate, deploy, and maintain mission-critical cloud infrastructure in a classified AWS environment.

This is a fully onsite role in Huntsville, AL supporting national security programs with strict security and compliance. The candidate will own Terraform IaC, administer Linux systems, and build secure DevSecOps pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, and AWS CodePipeline, in alignment with DoD/NIST/RMF guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience.
• US Citizens with active TOP SECRET clearance required.
• Experience in AWS in classified environments and defense programs.
• Solid background in IaC, Terraform, and secure DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, automate, and maintain cloud-native infrastructure using AWS and Terraform (IaC).
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or AWS CodePipeline.
• Administer and optimize Linux-based systems for high availability, security, and compliance.
• Develop automation scripts (Bash, Python, PowerShell) for provisioning and monitoring.
• Configure VPCs, IAM roles, security groups, and encryption in AWS.
• Collaborate with dev teams to improve release cycles and DevSecOps practices.
• Monitor production using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies to support rapid delivery.
• Support accreditation and compliance under DoD/IC frameworks (NIST, RMF, FedRAMP).
• Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement of workflows.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer to support the design, automation, deployment, and maintenance of mission-critical cloud infrastructure in a classified AWS environment. The ideal candidate has deep technical expertise in AWS cloud services, Terraform infrastructure as code, Linux system administration, and Agile/Scrum practices, with a proven track record in building scalable, secure, and automated DevSecOps pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, automate, and maintain cloud-native infrastructure using AWS services and Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC).

• Support accreditation and compliance activities under DoD/IC security frameworks (NIST, RMF, FedRAMP).
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of DevOps workflows.
