Job summary

A leading technology firm is seeking a Cloud DevOps Engineer to design and build a CI/CD platform for Java and Node.js applications in Azure. The role requires expertise in Microsoft Azure and GitHub, strong scripting skills, and experience with CI/CD pipelines for applications and databases. Candidates should have a track record of implementing Infrastructure as Code and exposure to observability tools. This position is on-site in Charlotte, NC, offering a 12+ month contract.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure across IaaS and PaaS services.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code and Git-based workflows.
• Scripting experience focused on automation and repeatability.
• Working knowledge of Azure networking and identity.
• Experience with observability in Azure and alert hygiene.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Expert-level experience with GitHub and GitHub Actions.
• Proven delivery of CI/CD for Java and Node apps on Azure App Service.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL schema migrations.

Responsibilities

• Own GitHub Actions pipelines and implement CI/CD for application stacks.
• Manage relational database schema pipelines including drift detection.
• Establish Azure Data Factory CI/CD with parameterized deployments.
• Codify platform building blocks and integrate infra delivery.
• Introduce SRE practices and strengthen observability with Azure tools.
• Containerize workloads and support AKS deployment.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with teams.
