Job summary

KBR is seeking a Senior Cloud Database Engineer to lead design, implementation, and management of enterprise cloud data infrastructure, primarily on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The role emphasizes scalable, secure architectures across multi-cloud environments to support federal civilian agency objectives.

Responsibilities include optimizing data performance, ensuring interoperability, and guiding modernization efforts with strong leadership and collaboration across IT teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud database architecture and management supporting large-scale enterprise environments with 8-10 years of progressive database experience.
• OCI Architect Certification and OCI Implementation Specialist Certification.
• Proficiency in SQL, data modeling, performance tuning, and hands-on OCI management.
• Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
• Strong communication and technical leadership capabilities.

• Provide thought leadership on the evolution of the agency’s data environment, supporting cloud migration and modernization efforts.

This role is responsible for delivering scalable, secure, and efficient database architectures across multi-cloud environments with a primary focus on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in data architecture, cloud-native database solutions, and interoperability across diverse data systems, with the ability to support mission-focused objectives and enterprise-level digital transformation.

• Technical Skills:

  • Hands-on experience managing data environments in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Understanding of interoperability principles, cloud-native storage, and integration strategies.
• Clearance Ability to obtain a TS/SCI
• Communication: Strong communication skills required for technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, and oral presentations.

Bachelors degree in engineering, or computer science, or equivalent work experience
