Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Configuration Engineer to support VA applications and spearhead the migration to the cloud. The role is remote within the United States and sits in the Veterans Affairs department, with a full-time W-2 position.

You will develop CM tools, manage builds, train developers, and ensure compliant, repeatable deployment across projects while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders and guiding junior engineers.

Qualifications

• CM and release engineering expertise required across multiple environments.
• Experience in federal or regulated enterprise environments is ideal.
• Broad knowledge of development, QA, systems engineering, and DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Support VA applications and lead migration to the cloud.
• Develop and maintain CM tools for identification, control, reporting, and delivery of software and COTS.
• Perform CM and release engineering tasks to ensure compliant, repeatable builds.
• Design, automate, and maintain productivity tools to improve software modeling and development.
• Develop build procedures to support software product development and use.
• Develop software CM standards for company-wide use.
• Train developers in CM tools and quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance on complex problems.
• Operate autonomously and make sound decisions.
• Ensure compliant, repeatable deployment processes across projects.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and mentor junior staff.
