J T in Annapolis Junction, MD is seeking a senior Cloud Software Engineer 3 to design, develop, and optimize large-scale Big Data cloud architectures and distributed systems. The role focuses on backend processing, IR, and data indexing using Hadoop and modern cloud technologies.

You will translate requirements into scalable code, resolve complex issues, and ensure seamless data ingestion across multi-node environments while mentoring junior engineers.

Competenze

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree plus 12+ years software eng. exp. in Big Data/cloud or 16 years without degree.
• Master’s degree substitutes 2 years of exp. for CS/related field.

Mansioni

• Architect, develop, test, and maintain distributed Big Data cloud systems and back-end processing pipelines.
• Implement Java applications, RESTful services, and MapReduce analytics on large datasets.
• Integrate with Cloud Bigtable, HDFS, and ZooKeeper.
• Design data ingestion, parsing, normalization, and indexing workflows for XML/JSON/CSV/Avro formats.
• Manage multi-node cloud installations on Linux/CentOS.
• Secure apps with PKI, firewalls, authentication, and identity services.
• Provide technical leadership on trade-offs and reusability.
• Profile and optimize JVM memory and performance.
