Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a senior cloud infrastructure architect to design, implement, and maintain cloud solutions across AWS, Azure, GCP, and VMware Cloud. You will lead projects, configure services, and ensure security, cost efficiency, and reliability while mentoring teammates.

The role requires 7+ years of relevant experience, strong networking/security knowledge, and the ability to collaborate across teams in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum seven (7) years of related system administration and/or systems engineering experience.
• Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS/Azure/GCP or VMC.
• Strong understanding of virtualization, containers, microservices, and serverless architectures.
• Experience with cloud automation/orchestration tools Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, firewalls; security best practices for cloud environments.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; strong teamwork and communication.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams on cloud projects.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical leader and mentor for the team.
• Lead large projects and complex changes with cross-functional teams.
• Design and implement cloud infrastructure following best practices.
• Configure and deploy cloud services including VMs, storage, networks, and security.
• Monitor, optimize reliability, availability, and cost of cloud systems.
• Automate deployment, configuration, and management tasks.
• Perform security assessments and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Document configurations and procedures for training and knowledge sharing.
• Provide guidance on cloud-related initiatives and disaster recovery plans.
