Job summary

J&T is seeking a senior Cloud Technical Expert 3 to provide strategic advisory, architectural leadership, and technical direction for hybrid cloud initiatives in Elkridge, MD. You will bridge government cloud use cases with commercial best practices and guide modernization across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.

The role requires a Master’s degree with 7+ years IT experience, including 5+ years in cloud computing, and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related technical discipline with 7+ years IT experience.
• At least 5 years in cloud computing environments.
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• Experience with AWS/Azure and hybrid/multi-cloud architectures (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
• Proven track record in modernization, cloud-native design (microservices, serverless, containers).
• Knowledge of FinOps and cloud cost governance.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic advisory and architectural leadership for hybrid/multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
• Architect and refactor legacy applications into cloud-native designs.
• Incorporate agency cybersecurity policies into cloud architectures.
• Implement FinOps methodologies and cost governance to optimize IT spend.
• Establish automated cloud cost guardrails and governance for engineering teams.
• Advise senior government leadership on cloud technologies, roadmaps, and trade-offs.
