Job description

The Senior Cloud Architect will support a growing initiative with a global leader in the Defense & Aerospace industry. This project focuses on the development of scalable, secure, and highly available cloud-based software solutions that integrate with existing non-cloud systems. The Software Engineer will contribute to mission-critical defense applications, supporting the organization’s cloud technology roadmap through modern microservices architectures, containerized workloads, and DevOps best practices.

This is a long‑term contract position requiring full onsite presence in the Melbourne, FL area. Competitive compensation will be provided.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience designing and deploying scalable, containerized microservices, utilizing Java, C++, or Python (OOP) and modern distributed systems patterns.
• Experience building secure, available cloud environments with Terraform and Kubernetes, including networking, IAM, and production‑grade infrastructure.
• Experience with automated CI/CD, Docker containerization, Kubernetes orchestration ensuring security, compliance, and observability in regulated defense environments.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA Public Trust Clearance
