Job summary

The Senior Clinical Research Finance Analyst at UC Irvine oversees financial planning for clinical trial activation, coordinating with sponsors, PIs, and trial teams to develop budgets and ensure fiscal viability. You will manage pre-award and post-award activities, analyze costs, review sponsor terms, and ensure adherence to internal controls and institutional policies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent; 5–7 years of relevant work experience preferred.
Experience with CTMS (Oncore) and Epic EHR is highly desired.
Strong financial analysis, budgeting and cost management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present complex information clearly.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

Lead financial planning and administration for clinical trial activation with sponsors.
Develop trial budgets, coverage analyses, and financial reviews before study activation.
Collaborate with PIs, research teams, contracts, sponsors and stakeholders to ensure budgets are accurate and sustainable.
Monitor costs, ensure compliance with policies, and manage pre- and post-award activities.
Support pre-award activations and investigator-initiated trials, applying industry best practices.
