Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking a Senior Clinical Scientist in Immunology to provide scientific leadership for a clinical trial within autoimmune diseases.

The role partners with Clinical Directors, Study Managers, Clinical Operations, Medical Monitoring, Data Management, Statistics, and Regulatory colleagues to ensure scientific integrity and quality. You will translate scientific findings into actionable development insights.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree requirement with options as listed (PharmD/PhD/MD/DO/PA or ANRP) or equivalent experience with a bachelor's or master's plus years in clinical sciences.
• Experience with protocol development, clinical data review, medical monitoring support, and cross-functional drug development teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead as the lead Clinical Scientist for assigned clinical trial from planning through analysis and reporting.
• Contribute to development of protocols, informed consent forms, CRFs, data review plans, and study-related documents.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure endpoints and assessments align with development strategy.
• Review and interpret clinical data for safety, protocol adherence, data quality, and efficacy outcomes.
• Provide scientific guidance to study teams and mentor junior clinical scientists as appropriate.
• Communicate complex scientific concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
