Job summary

Stanford University is seeking a Clinical Research Manager to provide leadership and oversight of complex clinical trials, supervising staff, and ensuring quality, regulatory compliance, and fiscal oversight. The role includes developing recruitment strategies, coordinating IRB submissions, and ensuring adherence to policies.

The position requires five years of clinical research experience in an academic health center or equivalent, with a possible Clinical Research Certificate preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field is required.
• Five years of clinical research experience in an academic health center, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CRO environment or equivalent.
• Clinical Research Certificate (ACRP, SOCRA, CROP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee clinical research administration across complex trials.
• Hire, orient, train, and evaluate staff; ensure coverage across study coordinators.
• Develop recruitment and retention strategies and informed consent documents.
• Coordinate protocol submissions, renewals, revisions, and annual reports to IRB and regulatory bodies.
• Audit operations for regulatory compliance and oversee budgets and liaison with sponsors and accounting.
• Lead committees, represent the program to internal/external audiences, and manage cross-functional projects.
