Job summary

Behavioral Health Services in Long Beach, CA seeks a Supervisor to provide clinical, administrative, and operational oversight of assigned staff and program activities. Under the direction of the Program Director, the supervisor coordinates daily operations and ensures compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities include staff supervision, performance development, documentation, and collaboration with medical providers and community resources to deliver client-centered care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalency.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• AA degree plus related experience in lieu of degree.
• Certified by a state-recognized substance use counselor certification body, with at least 5 years of substance use experience, and/or master’s degree with BBS registration and/or licensure in MFT, MSW, or PCC with at least 2 years of substance use treatment or community mental health experience.
• Knowledge of County, Federal and State program standards.
• Knowledge of medication-assisted treatment is required.
• Must have valid California driver’s license and liability insurance if driving a personal vehicle on BHS business.

Responsibilities

• Performs and/or delegates the responsibilities in this job description as appropriate.
• Assists Program Director with oversight and operation of the program as needed capacity.
• Provides supervision, training, and/or development of staff, interns, and volunteers within their scope of practice.
• May be responsible for minimum caseload including group and individual services.
• Conduct comprehensive behavioral health screening, care planning, and treatment activities.
• Ensure documentation is timely and meets contract, licensing, certification and other required standards.
• Review client files for accurate and timely documentation and appropriate application of program services to meet client needs.
