Beth Israel Lahey Health's Exeter Hospital's Michael & Jeanne Falzone Center for Cancer Care is seeking a Senior Clinical Director to lead oncology services across medical, radiation and infusion care. Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related field such as Nursing, Healthcare Administration, MBA, Public Health, or equivalent.
  • RN or Advanced Practice Provider license in NH.
  • Oncology Certification (OCN, AOCN, AOCNP, etc.).
  • Leadership certification (NEA-BC, FACHE, or equivalent).
  • 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in oncology services.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the strategic vision for cancer services across the system.
  • Direct daily operations of infusion, medical and radiation oncology, navigation and support services.
  • Ensure adherence to clinical standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements (e.g., DNV, CoC, NAPBC).
  • Drive budgeting, revenue cycle optimization and cost containment strategies.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship and accountability for multidisciplinary teams.
  • Enhance patient experience and build community partnerships for cancer prevention and education.

In partnership with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), we deliver comprehensive inpatient and outpatient oncology services, ensuring patients have seamless access to advanced treatments, specialized expertise, clinical research, and supportive care throughout every stage of their cancer journey.

The Senior Clinical Director of the Cancer Center provides strategic, operational, and clinical leadership for oncology services including medical, radiation and infusion across the continuum of care. This role ensures the delivery high-quality, patient-centered, safe and efficient oncology care aligned with organizational goals, accreditation standards and regulatory requirements. This individual will serve as a key leader in driving clinical excellence, program growth, interdisciplinary collaboration, and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership and Program Development
  • Develop and execute the strategic vision for cancer services aligned with system priorities.
  • Lead growth initiatives, including service line expansion, outreach programs, and partnerships.
  • Identify emerging trends in oncology care and integrate evidence-based innovations.
  • Collaborate with physician leadership to enhance clinical service lines (medical, surgical, radiation oncology)
Operational Oversight
  • Direct daily operations across the Cancer Center, including infusion, medical and radiation oncology, navigation, and supportive services.
  • Ensure efficient patient flow, access to care, and high patient satisfaction.
  • Optimize productivity, staffing models, and resource utilization.
  • Leads process improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma or similar methodologies.
Clinical Excellence and Quality
  • Ensure adherence to clinical standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements (e.g., DNV, CoC, NAPBC)
  • Monitor and improve clinical outcomes, patient safety indicators, and quality metrics.
  • Promote evidence-based practice and standardization of care pathways.
  • Drive accreditation readiness and maintenance for oncology programs.
Financial Management
  • Develop and manage operating and capital budgets.
  • Drive financial performance, including revenue cycle optimization and cost containment strategies.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to inform decision-making and performance improvement.
Leadership and Talent Development
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and accountability for multidisciplinary teams.
  • Foster a culture of engagement, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • Lead workforce planning, recruitment, retention, and succession planning.
  • Promote shared governance and interdisciplinary teamwork.
Patient Experience and Community Engagement
  • Champion a patient-centered approach, ensuring compassionate and culturally competent care.
  • Enhance patient experience outcomes and engagement.
  • Builds relationships with community partners and promote cancer prevention and education initiatives.
Qualifications
Education

Master’s degree required (Nursing, Healthcare Administrations, Business Administration, Public Health or related field)

Licensure and Certification
  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Provider (NP) state of NH
  • Oncology Certification (OCN, AOCN, AOCNP, etc.)
  • Leadership certification (NEA-BC, FACHE, or equivalent)
Experience
  • Minimum 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in oncology services
  • Demonstrated success managing complex healthcare operations and multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience in academic , community, or integrated health system cancer programs preferred
  • Proven track record in program growth, quality improvement, and financial management
