Job summary

UNC Health in Chapel Hill is seeking a Clinical Dietitian II to support a multidisciplinary team with evidence-based medical nutrition therapy aligned to patient goals.

You will apply the Nutrition Care Process, perform nutrition assessments, and participate in discharge planning. The role involves education, mentoring interns, and may include participation in clinical research and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree at a US regionally accredited university or college and ACEND approved coursework
• Master’s in related Dietitian field for licensure after 2024
• Completion of ACEND-accredited Coordinated Program or Dietetics Internship (900 hours) or 1200 hours for newer programs

Responsibilities

• Assesses nutritional needs using standardized practice and critical thinking.
• Acts as a resource for the clinical team and liaises with other medical specialties.
• Leads compliance with accreditation standards to improve safety and quality.
• Attends rounds and quality improvement meetings.
• Develops, implements, and monitors nutrition care plans and participates in discharge planning.
• Precepts interns and mentors other clinical dietitians.
