Job summary

Planetary Scale is hiring a Strategic Finance Senior Associate to own the analytical work behind decisions for climate-tech founders. You’ll build dynamic financial models, run scenario analyses, and maintain KPI dashboards used in fundraising, board discussions, and strategic reviews.

You’ll support fundraising across equity, venture debt, and grants, while budgeting, benchmarking, and tracking KPIs. This remote role includes shadow client equity, a performance bonus, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Preferred experience: 3–6 years (MBB, IB, or comparable analytical background)
• Serious analytical and modeling horsepower from top-tier environments
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present to founders and boards
• Impact-driven, with focus on climate and energy transition
• Experience with venture-backed startups and fundraising exposure
• Willingness to learn quickly and solve novel problems from first principles

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain three-statement models, scenario analyses, and KPI dashboards used by founders
• Support fundraising across equity, venture debt, and grants, including materials and diligence responses
• Run budgeting, benchmarking, KPI tracking, and proactive issue discovery
• Prepare investor and board reporting with clear, actionable insights
• Set up and oversee back-office systems (bookkeeping, payables, invoicing, payroll) for clients
• Research sectors and business models across climate/energy transition to sharpen advisory work
