Job description

Job Summary

A Senior Client Service Engineer at Doble Engineering will be responsible for providing engineering support to entities of the power utility industry that subscribe to a Doble Service Agreement. The role includes providing technical and application support on Doble products, analyzing test results, training and consultation on power apparatus. Senior Client Service Engineers will support R&D related to application and product development and assist the field service and test department. Engineers will also participate in technical conferences sponsored by Doble and other organizations.

Essential Job Functions

• Provide technical and application support on Doble products, analyze test results, and train and consult on power apparatus.
• Support research and development related to application and product development.
• Publish technical articles and participate in technical conferences sponsored by Doble and industry organizations.
• Act as a subject matter expert in a particular discipline.
• Engage in advanced diagnostic areas of expertise.
• Write technical reports for diagnostic analysis with minimal review required.
• Provide high‑level training to Doble clients.
• Plan and schedule custom agendas.
• Offer expertise to others in the CS department and other Doble departments, making appropriate internal support decisions.

Education

Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in electrical engineering is preferred. Related technical disciplines will be considered. Individuals with alternative technical training, 10 years of utility experience focused on power apparatus, and familiarity with Doble products may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Required Experience

• Five years of utility or similar experience focused on power apparatus.
• Familiarity with Doble products.
• Previous experience in the power utility industry and familiarity with electrical substation apparatus.
• Understanding of diagnostic test techniques for high‑voltage power apparatus.
• A solid commitment to customer service.
• Professional conduct.
• Travel required 30% of the time, including domestic and international locations, typically six days (Sunday to Friday) and rarely exceeding fourteen days.
• Ability to multitask and be flexible amid frequent client interactions.
• Manage changing job assignments to meet client needs.
• Experience and willingness to teach and work outdoors in energized substations.

Physical Requirements

Perform duties such as standing, sitting, using computers, reading, writing, typing, using copy machines, filing paperwork, and handling telephones. Salary

Actual base salary will be determined based on location, level, qualifications, job‑related skills, and education or training experience. Salary range: minimum $119,686.87 – midpoint $149,608.59.
