Job summary

Sorren, Inc. is seeking a leader to manage the financial accounting function across multiple entities. You will oversee reconciliations, adjusting entries, bill payments, AR, and tax‑related reporting including 1099s and tangible personal property returns.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years of general accounting experience, a CPA license or eligibility, and a strong GAAP background. This full‑time role requires excellent leadership and client relationship skills, with flexibility to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in general accounting.
• CPA license or eligible (preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• Thorough understanding of GAAP and financial reporting frameworks.
• Proficiency in learning and using accounting software and related tools.
• Strong leadership and communication skills for mentoring teams and managing client relationships.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Analytical thinking to identify risks and issues in financial reporting.
• High accuracy in mathematical and accounting tasks.
• Ability to oversee multiple engagements and ensure compliance with firm procedures.
• Proactive problem-solving and initiative to propose improvements.
• Ability to design and optimize accounting processes to drive efficiency and internal controls.
• Full-time commitment and flexibility to work beyond regular hours.

Responsibilities

• Lead and review complex accounting functions for multiple entities.
• Oversee annual accounting procedures for tax prep, 1099s, and property returns.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual financial compilations per client need.
• Identify misstatements, inconsistencies, and risks in reports.
• Provide advisory and financial consulting to clients.
• Prepare engagement budgets and monitor resource use.
• Foster strong client relationships and manage expectations.
• Mentor junior staff and review work for quality.
• Research complex accounting issues and present recommendations.
• Communicate statuses and finance concerns with team and clients.
• Engage in training to maintain technical knowledge.
• Manage time to meet deadlines and targets.
