Job summary

JHM, a family-oriented accounting firm in Chattanooga, seeks a Senior Client Accountant to join our team and support clients with accurate financial statements and close processes.

You will apply strong accounting fundamentals, prepare year-end work papers, and collaborate with a seasoned team to mentor junior staff while ensuring timely, high-quality deliverables for a diverse client base.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
• 3-5 years of public accounting experience preferred.
• CPA eligibility preferred is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
• Organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
• Strong accounting skills required.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of accounting principles to complete assignments with normal supervision.
• Understands and follows prior year work papers and journal entries.
• Maintains and updates accounting records and files.
• Conducts month-end and year-end closures.
• Prepares documents for audits and/or tax.
• Follows through on responsibilities and takes ownership of assignments.
• Communicates professionally and promptly to clients.
