Job summary

IFG Companies is seeking a Senior Claim Technical Specialist to investigate, evaluate, negotiate and settle serious injury and property damage claims involving complex coverage and large loss exposures across jurisdictions. The role requires reviewing coverage, applicable laws, and claim resolution strategies.

You will mentor claim examiners, direct counsel, manage reserves, and contribute to budgets. A bachelor’s degree in insurance, economics or related fields plus eight years of experience,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in insurance, economics or related field.
• Active adjuster license in designated home state and ability to obtain additional licenses.
• Professional designations such as SCLA, CCLA, AIC, or CPCU are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing new claim reports and determining initial plans of action.
• Analyzing coverage and preparing Reservation of Rights and Declination of Coverage letters.
• Pursuing culpable parties and seeking contribution where appropriate.
• Identifying serious injury/damage losses and reporting to upper management.
• Evaluating claims with reserves and budgets.
• Reviewing expense bills in the e-billing system.
• Identifying subrogation opportunities and pursuing recovery.
• Directing counsel in defense of litigated claims within budgets.
• Negotiating settlements and attending mediations and trials.
• Mentoring claim examiner trainees and new inspectors.
