Job summary

Athens Administrators has an immediate need for a full-time Senior Claims Examiner to support California public entity and special district accounts within our Property & Casualty department. This role requires residency in California to attend file reviews and meetings, with in-office participation required for those living within 26 miles of Concord or Orange.

Remote work is possible on non-office days with technical requirements met.

Qualifications

• Requires 8–10 years of complex/major claims experience including public entity and CA auto/general liability.
• Knowledge of California insurance laws, codes and procedures is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong communication skills are essential.
• Willingness to commute to meetings in California and attend file reviews as required.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze and process complex general liability and auto claims within authority limits.
• Investigation, evaluation and settlement decisions for high-exposure claims.
• Manage reserves and coordinate with counsel for litigation, as required.
• Lead file reviews and provide updates to clients, city staff and management.
