Job summary

TransEleven Claims Managers (TCM) is seeking a Senior Claims Counsel to oversee a portfolio of claims, including litigation management and outside counsel relations. The role focuses on coverage analysis through resolution, with emphasis on negotiations, mediations, and complex reporting.

A JD and state bar admission are required, plus strong writing and communication skills for frequent international calls.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of experience as an attorney in insurance litigation, defense or liability claims.
• Licensed attorney in good standing in at least one state.
• JD from an accredited law school; writing samples required.
• Willingness to obtain Licensed Insurance Adjuster certification.
• Excellent writing skills and reporting ability.
• Strong verbal and video communication for international calls.
• Experience with claims software and file management systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team.

Job description

TransEleven Claims Managers (TCM) is looking for a qualified attorney to join our team as Senior Claims Counsel, handling a high volume of claim files in multiple PL/GL practice areas. This position is 100% remote after initial training at our corporate offices in Allen, TX. You can reside anywhere in the state or in the United States. We are looking for attorneys that have worked for another third-party claims administrator, insurance carrier, captive firm or insurance defense firm, handling litigation and professional and general liability matters. Insurance coverage experience is a plus.

Position Description:

As a Senior Claims Counsel, you will oversee claims administration and litigation management for a portfolio of claim files, from initial coverage and claims analysis through resolution, including retaining and management of outside counsel, negotiations, mediations, settlement conferences, invoice and expense management and complex reporting to all parties. The right candidate must be able to engage in high-level problem solving, legal analysis and negotiations.

Qualifications:

4-7 years of experience as an attorney in insurance litigation, insurance defense and/or professional and general liability claims administration. Insurance coverage experience is a plus.

• Licensed Insurance Adjuster (or willingness to obtain this and other required certifications)
• JD (Juris Doctor) from an accredited law school
• Licensed as an attorney (in good standing) in at least one state (valid State Bar member)
• Exceptional writing skills due to the level of report writing (writing samples required)
• Excellent verbal and video communication skills (frequent international video calls)
• Command of Office 365 software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, etc.)
• We prefer previous experience working with claims software/file management systems (e.g., FileHandler) and client billing
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a close-knit team
• Commitment to ethical legal practices and compliance with all regulatory/professional standards
