Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. in New Orleans, LA, is seeking a senior structural/civil engineering leader to drive design and execution of large projects. This hybrid role blends office planning with on-site collaboration, supporting multidisciplinary teams across phases from concept to commissioning.

Candidates will have a B.S. in structural/civil engineering (or M.S.) with leading experience, strong safety awareness, and excellent communication. PE certification or advanced degree preferred.

Qualifications

• :Bachelor’s or Master’s in Structural or Civil Engineering with lead/supervisory experience.
• Experience managing large or complex engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of codes, standards, and safety practices.
• Ability to analyze complex information and draw valid conclusions.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• PE certification or advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• :Plan, organize, manage and execute engineering projects within time and cost.
• Perform detailed design tasks, calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Prepare technical documentation and reports.
• Participate in project meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Conduct design reviews and evaluate vendor proposals.
• Model, simulate, and analyze design components with engineering software.
• Assist in resolving issues during construction and commissioning.
• Contribute to design process improvements and knowledge sharing.
