Job description

Evergreen Engineering®, Inc. | Eugene, Oregon |Full-time | In-office to start

Evergreen Engineering is seeking a licensed Civil/Structural Engineer for our Eugene team. You’ll tackle practical engineering challenges for industrial and manufacturing clients; designing new structures, evaluating existing facilities, and developing solutions that work in the field.

Our projects range from equipment foundations, steel platforms, and conveyor supports to major facility expansions and retrofits in wood products, renewable energy, pulp and paper, power generation, chemicals, and metals. You’ll take ownership of design assignments while collaborating with experienced engineers, designers, and other disciplines.

What you’ll do
  • Design and analyze steel and concrete structures, foundations, equipment supports, and anchorage, including wind and seismic considerations.
  • Prepare structural calculations, specifications, sketches, and construction documents.
  • Investigate existing structures and develop practical recommendations for modifications, strengthening, or repairs.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, equipment vendors, CAD designers, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Lead assigned design work from field investigation through construction support, with attention to quality, schedule, and budget.
  • Share technical knowledge and mentor developing engineers and designers.
What we’re looking for
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, structural, or structurally focused architectural engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Active PE license in a U.S. state, with the ability to obtain Oregon licensure as needed.
  • Structural design experience with steel and concrete; working knowledge of IBC and applicable standards, including ASCE 7, AISC 360, and ACI 318.
  • Sound engineering judgment, clear communication, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with others.
  • Ability to work in our Eugene office during onboarding and visit project sites as needed.
Preferred experience
  • Five or more years of relevant structural engineering experience, especially in industrial facilities or consulting; licensed engineers with less experience who are ready for these responsibilities are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience with existing-structure assessments, equipment foundations and anchorage, seismic design, or construction support.
  • Familiarity with RISA analysis tools or similar software; AutoCAD, Revit, or Mathcad experience is helpful.
