Job summary

ECI Group is seeking an experienced Senior Civil/Structural Design Engineer to bolster our petrochemical engineering team. The role involves delivering civil/structural designs, leading multi-disciplinary teams, and coordinating with clients, fabricators, and site contractors.

You will apply your knowledge of international codes and industry software to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant projects while working under the Global Civil | Structural Engineering Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Structural Engineering in the U.S.
• 5+ years of structural engineering and heavy foundation design experience for large machinery with significant dynamic loading.
• Minimum 5 years in civil/structural engineering within a multidisciplinary petrochemical design environment.
• Site experience such as construction support or fabricator shop work.
• Up-to-date knowledge of civil and structural international standards for petrochemical plants (AISC 14th, ACI 318-08, ASCE 7-10, NFPA 101 2012, IBC 2012).
• Proficiency with Navisworks, STAAD Pro, RAM Elements, Mathcad, SAP2000, Tekla, and Bentley software.

Responsibilities

The ECI Group is looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Senior Civil/ Structural Design Engineer to supplement our existing civil/structural engineering team. Consider joining our team of experienced engineers and designers developing solutions for our petrochemical business lines.

Your Role With The Company:

Reporting Structure

• This position reports directly to the Global Civil | Structural Engineering Manager.

Engineering Deliverables and Technical Support

• Execute and oversee the preparation ofcivil/structuralengineering deliverables in accordance with the Company Management System, current legislation, project requirements, and applicable international standards.
• Review and check deliverables produced by others to ensure technical accuracy, quality, and compliance.
• Provide technical information and engineering support to the project team.
• Participate in technical design and project reviews to confirm alignment with customer needs and QHSE requirements.

Teamwork and Leadership

• Work effectively both independently and as part of a larger engineering team.
• Lead large, multi-skilled engineering teams when required.
• Identify and present individual and departmental training and development opportunities for consideration.

Customer and Stakeholder Engagement

• Understand internal and external customer needs and ensure they are being addressed effectively.
• Build strong customer relationships through clear, consistent, and proactive communication.
• Interface with internal engineering disciplines and external project stakeholders, including clients, fabricators, and site contractor representatives.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to communicate technical needs, such as loads and mounting geometry, and to support their requirements, including access and clearances.

Background Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Structural Engineering in Louisiana and Texas.
• 5+ years of experience in structural engineering and heavy foundation design for large reciprocating machinery with significant dynamic loading in industrial applications.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil and structural engineering, operations, or other technical roles within a multidisciplinary petrochemical design environment.
• Self-motivated and able to deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision. Confident in making decisions, taking initiative, staying organized, and supporting multiple concurrent projects.
• Site experience, such as construction support, troubleshooting, site surveys, or fabricator shop work.
• Up-to-date knowledge of civil and structural international standards applicable to petrochemical process plants, with familiarity and experience using the following codes or later versions: AISC 14th Edition, ACI 318-08, ASCE 7-10, NFPA 101 2012, and IBC 2012.
• Strong command of industry-standard visualization and calculation tools, such as Navisworks, STAAD Pro, RAM Elements, Mathcad, SAP2000, Tekla, and other Bentley engineering software.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
