Job summary

A leading construction firm is seeking an experienced Heavy Highway/Civil Senior Estimator to join their Southeast Region estimating team in Wilmington, NC. This role involves preparing contract proposal estimates for highway projects and leading junior staff. The ideal candidate has over 10 years of estimating experience and a solid understanding of highway construction scopes. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package. This is a full-time position located on-site in Wilmington.

Qualifications

• 10 years of estimating experience and/or related project management training with large highway projects is preferred.
• Experience with all scopes of a typical highway construction project.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work.
• Prepare estimates by calculating the complete takeoff of scope of work.
• Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures.
• Utilize HCSS estimating software to develop comprehensive project estimates.
• Communicate with vendors in support of quotations.
• Review plans and specifications and recommend solutions.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.
• Provide leadership, training, and mentoring to junior staff.
