Job summary

Talent With Heart in Nashville, TN is seeking a Senior Civil Estimator to lead our civil preconstruction team. You will oversee and present competitive cost estimates for paving projects, guiding bid processes and ensuring on-time submissions.

You will analyze drawings, specifications, solicit subcontractor quotes, and mentor junior estimators while contributing to process improvements. A strong track record in civil estimating and proficiency with Excel and common estimating tools is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as an estimator in the civil industry.
• Experience estimating excavation, paving, grading, and similar civil projects.
• Proficiency with Excel, Bluebeam, and estimating software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Lead bid processes for public and private sector projects.
• Identify labor, materials, and time requirements by studying proposals and plans.
• Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Prepare bid packages and present final estimates to senior management.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when necessary.
• Provide value engineering recommendations.
• Maintain historical cost data and develop estimating templates and tools.
• Mentor junior estimators and contribute to process improvements.
