The firm self-performs work and values experienced estimators familiar with government bidding and cost databases. The position is on-site with a base salary of $120,000–$150,000 plus comprehensive benefits, reflecting experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years estimating experience in civil grading, earthwork or heavy civil.
• Experience bidding public works and private development projects.
• Proficient with estimating using labor, equipment, materials and subcontractor quotes.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity take-offs for earthwork and site work.
• Take off underground utilities, trenching, paving and concrete.
• Build cost estimates from production rates and quotes.
• Prepare bids following prevailing wage and procurement rules.
• Solicit and negotiate supplier and subcontractor pricing.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and bid reviews, submit proposals on deadline.
• Collaborate with project managers and field crews on constructability.
• Maintain cost data and support project turnover and change orders.
