Ideal candidates will have at least 8 years of relevant experience, possess licensure as a Professional Engineer, and be proficient with engineering design software like MicroStation and AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of related engineering experience required.
• Experience with public works infrastructure projects preferred.

Responsibilities

Location: Hernando, MS (hybrid position also available in Oxford, MS or Memphis, TN)

Waggoner Engineering, Inc. is hiring a Senior Civil Engineer to lead a multidisciplinary team in providing quality planning, design and technical assistance to Discipline Managers across both water and transportation in delivering projects within budgetary and time constraints.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform engineering analysis and design (2D and 3D) for a variety of projects including:
  • Roadways, intersections and related infrastructure, including new construction and rehabilitation.
  • Water distribution systems and sanitary sewer collection system.
  • Hydraulic modeling.
  • Pump station modeling and analysis.
  • Water and wastewater treatment.
• Lead a small team of junior engineers.
• Prepare construction plans, specifications, and contract documents for contracting and bidding of construction projects.
• Conduct assessment and evaluation of existing system conditions and develop recommended remedial measures.
• Perform construction phase engineering, including periodic on‑site reviews, in collaboration with Construction Services team.
• Maintain and document written and verbal communications with clients throughout the development and completion of a project.
• Conduct project status reviews with project manager and team members, checking accuracy of work completed, and monitor timeliness of project completion.
• Prepare engineering studies and reports.
• Provide technical guidance and training to members of the project team.
• Prepare project design using sound engineering principles, engineering software and tools.
• Assist Project Manager in assuring quality control procedures are performed.
• Maintain responsibility for adherence to applicable codes.

What You'll Need

• Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain PE licensure in other states where Waggoner practices within 90 days.
• 8+ years of related engineering and design experience.
• Certifications applicable to civil engineering.
• Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to the practice of engineering and the implementation of public works infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in design using MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Geopak, Open Roads, and other DOT approved software.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
