Job summary

Fishbeck is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer – Land Development in the Farmington Hills, MI or Toledo, OH area. You will lead land development projects from concept through construction, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and clients to deliver high-quality projects.

The role requires a PE license in Ohio or Michigan, 10+ years of experience, and expertise in site design, stormwater, utilities, and permitting, with strong communication and mentoring capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in land development engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Ohio or Michigan.
• Willingness to obtain additional state licenses through reciprocity.
• Experience with civil site design, land development, stormwater management, utilities, grading, and permitting.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and familiarity with codes and municipal review processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support land development projects from initial planning and design through permitting, bidding, and construction.
• Prepare and review site layout, grading, drainage, utility, stormwater management, erosion control, and construction plans.
• Coordinate with clients, municipalities, agencies, contractors, and internal team members to move projects forward efficiently.
• Assist with technical reports, specifications, cost estimates, feasibility studies, and permit applications.
• Provide construction-phase support, including responding to questions, reviewing submittals, and assisting with field observations.
• Mentor and collaborate with junior staff while contributing to quality control and continuous improvement efforts.

Working with our Land Development team, you will lead and support civil engineering projects from concept through construction, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and clients.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For
