Senior Civil Hydrotechnical Engineer – Renewable Energy

We are currently seeking a Senior Civil Hydrotechnical Engineer to join our client's renewable energy team. The successful candidate will bring leadership and technical expertise to a range of water resources and hydropower design projects. The ideal candidate will contribute to planning and design activities, help shape engineering strategies, and ensure project objectives are met. This position involves working collaboratively across teams and supporting a variety of consulting assignments to deliver value-driven solutions for clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide oversight and direction for water and hydro project execution plans, covering engineering analysis, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Lead the development and assessment of project concepts and alternatives, focusing on optimization and feasibility.
• Support power and energy modelling efforts, including cost estimating and economic evaluations.
• Produce civil designs for dams, roads, embankments, channels, and related infrastructure, incorporating hydrotechnical and geotechnical inputs.
• Participate in regulatory approval processes, including preparation of technical documentation and support for client interactions with regulatory agencies.
• Contribute to the growth and development of the team by improving tools, techniques, and processes. Assist in proposal writing and strategic marketing efforts.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior staff.
• Foster and maintain strong client relationships through proactive business development and pursuit of new project opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization or strong background in hydrotechnical engineering.
• Professional Engineer.
• Minimum of 15 years of consulting engineering experience, ideally in a multidisciplinary environment with the ability to manage multiple major projects concurrently.
