Job summary

NEW Solutions is seeking a Civil Engineer in Wareham to support the NRCS ACES program by providing engineering technical assistance for soil and water conservation projects. Qualifications

• Minimum of 20 year(s) of experience in soil and water conservation work including engineering practice planning, design and construction.
• BA/BS degree in Agricultural, Civil, Environmental, or related engineering field.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering technical assistance to field and state office personnel for planning, surveying, design, construction, and certification of soil and water conservation practices.
• Direct designs, preliminary and final drawings and specs for complex engineering practices with hydrological, hydraulic, structural, and geotechnical analyses.
• Review and check NRCS designs and schedules; recommend changes to accommodate site conditions and materials availability.
• Direct field investigations and surveys; ensure data adequacy and adherence to standards; request specialist input when needed.
• Coordinate construction oversight, perform on-site inspections, and identify major problems not covered by precedents.
• Assist Leadership in training field personnel and provide technical guidance across engineering practices.
