Position: Senior Civil Engineer

HDR is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Building Engineering Services group in the Kentucky/Tennessee/Arkansas area. In this role, you'll:

  1. Maintain professional engineering registration
  2. Design and plan production on a variety of commercial and industrial projects, including site planning, grading, drainage, paving, site utilities, and civil infrastructure
  3. Prepare specifications, contract documents, and cost estimates
  4. Advance permitting requirements
  5. Perform complex assignments, exercising judgment in evaluation, selection, and modification of engineering techniques and procedures
  6. Serve as a technical expert in your area of specialization, resolving complex problems as needed
  7. Function independently and within project teams
  8. Plan, organize, and supervise work of staff; assist with recruitment
  9. Serve as Project Manager on larger projects (not the sole focus)
  10. Manage client relationships and program development within the Civil Section
  11. Understand HDR's work-sharing mentality across offices
  12. Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, MicroStation, InRoads, Civil 3D (highly preferred)
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, with strong leadership skills
  • Hands-on experience in site development and drainage/grading projects
  • Local candidates with market knowledge/relationships in Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas preferred
