Job summary

Visiting Angels of Magnolia is seeking compassionate Senior Citizen Providers to serve clients across the North Houston area with flexible schedules and competitive wages. As a caregiver, you will assist with personal care, meal preparation, light housekeeping, transportation, and companionship, while following each client's care plan and reporting health changes as needed.

Training opportunities are available to broaden skills in dementia or Alzheimer’s care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and reliable vehicle.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• First Aid training or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and time efficiently.
• Reliable transportation to client homes.
• Physically capable of assisting with lifting and activities of daily living.
• Willing to comply with health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Assist with light exercises or walks.
• Plan and prepare meals with clients.
• Handle light housekeeping duties.
• Report health changes or unusual incidents.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Respond quickly in emergencies.
• accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
• Remind clients to take medications as prescribed.
• Assist mobility and errands as needed.

As a Visiting Angels Senior Citizen Provider, you'll play a vital role in enriching the quality of life of clients and supporting their wellness in accordance with their custom care plans. This can include:

• Helping clients with personal care and hygiene
• Assisting clients with light physical exercise or walks
• Planning and preparing meals with clients
• Handling light housekeeping duties
• Reporting health changes or unusual incidents
• Providing pleasant, supportive companionship
• Responding quickly and responsibly in emergencies
• Accompanying and supervise clients during shopping trips
• Reminding clients to take prescription medications appropriately
• Providing assistance with mobility and ambulation both at home and during appointments/errands

Visiting Angels offers opportunities for advanced training in areas like dementia care and/or Alzheimer’s care for caregivers seeking to broaden their skills.

Senior Citizen Provider Job Requirements:

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Posses a Valid Drivers License, Car Insurance, and a Reliable Personal Vehicle to use to transport clients
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must
• Training in First Aid and emergency response is required (provided if needed)
• Have excellent time-management skills and can juggle multiple duties at once
• Reliable transportation to get to and from client homes at the times you're scheduled to provide care
• Feel confident in your physical endurance when it comes to things like carrying groceries and physically supporting a client
• Feel comfortable performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints
• Are willing and able to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards (ex., background check)
• Bring compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten the day of each client to the table
