Job summary

Quantinuum is seeking a Senior Chief Platform Architect to act as the technical authority for the developer platform, including access portals, orchestration, and security. You will mentor engineers and shape the technical roadmap to translate business needs into robust, production-ready systems.

You will lead architectural work for large-scale platforms, influence teams without direct authority, and ensure coding standards, scalability, and reliability across multi-region deployments.

Qualifications

• 25+ years in software engineering with at least 5+ years in a senior architect or lead role, specifically within developer platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering required; Master’s or PhD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and specifications of a high-performance developer platform.
• Refine quantum computer access API and web portal architecture for performance, scalability and multi-region operation
• Transform web portal into an application development and delivery framework by leveraging cloud-based hybrid workflow engine and reusable quantum/classical application components
• Define standard interfaces for hosting application components and building applications by both internal and external developers
• Ensure the security and reliability of the platform as it scales up
• Deliver customizable cloud-based hybrid applications to end users
• Work across the business to help define and maintain the technology roadmap, translating business goals into technical requirements and evaluating new technologies.
• Foster a culture of excellence by establishing best coding practices, performing architectural reviews, and mentoring senior software engineers.

Senior Chief Platform Architect - 801 at Quantinuum, US Broomfield, CO. A senior-level full time position in the Quantum Computing Software team, listed under software engineering.

We are seeking an Chief Platform Architect in our CO, MN, or UK locations.

As the Chief Platform Architect for the Quantum Software Developer Platform, you will act as the technical authority for the design Quantinuum’s developer platform: access portals for quantum computers, hybrid work-flow orchestration, tooling access, documentation, and security. You will work with other leaders on hardware-software co-design efforts, ensuring our platform is scalable and enabling of our quantum processors. You will mentor senior engineers, ensure excellent coding standards, and help define and execute on the technical roadmap to translate business needs into robust, production-ready systems.

WE VALUE

• Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud-native solutions.
• Expertise in CI/CD pipeline design, developer portals (e.g., Backstage), and observability tools.
