Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Scientific Informatics Lead to drive chemistry-focused ELN and scientific data management across discovery, medicinal chemistry, synthetic chemistry, and process chemistry. You will translate complex workflows into scalable platform capabilities and lead requirements, design, testing, deployment, and support in partnership with scientists and informatics professionals.

Qualifications

• Strong domain expertise in medicinal chemistry, synthetic chemistry, process chemistry, or discovery research.
• Hands-on experience with Dotmatics Chemistry/ELN or comparable platforms.
• Experience gathering requirements and configuring workflows.
• Leadership beyond basic end-user support for informatics platforms.
• Familiarity with Python, SQL, REST APIs and data integration.

Responsibilities

• Lead requirements discovery for chemistry experiments, reactions, compounds, samples, inventory management, and reporting.
• Translate workflows into user stories, functional specs, data mappings, and acceptance criteria.
• Provide senior oversight for ELN configuration, testing, deployment readiness, and user support.
• Design and optimize workflows for experiment capture, reaction management, structures, stoichiometry, and inventory.
• Guide integrations with compound registration, inventory, assay systems, instruments, and data repositories.
• Support data governance, metadata, reporting, and data quality initiatives.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across chemists, informatics, validation, infrastructure, security, and vendors.
• Develop SOPs, training materials, test evidence, release notes, and platform docs.
• Support platform modernization, migration, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership to ensure ELN platforms support R&D objectives.
