What you will do
- Serve as the technical leader on the business team by mentoring less experienced engineers on design practices, unit health monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Provide support during abnormal and non-routine operations, including unit turnarounds, and aid in developing long-term strategies for product line improvements.
- Organize and design plant testing and product trials.
- Act as a senior resource, collaborating with supervisors to set clear objectives and align priorities for the technical team.
- Influence others and drive solutions without direct authority.
- Work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines, operations, mechanical personnel, and interface with corporate technology support.
- Interface with third-party vendors for cost optimization and developing solutions.
- Lead process safety initiatives, including Hazard and Operability Reviews (HAZOPs) and Risk Assessments, developing closure plans for identified risks.
- Lead or support incident investigations as a technical expert.
- Support the development and implementation of capital projects aimed at improving margins or mitigating SHE risks.
- Assist in field operations during plant startups, shutdowns, or upsets.
- Demonstrate courage of conviction to promote healthy tension and ensure fit-for-purpose outcomes.
