Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Older Active Adult Centers is hiring a Part-time Senior Center Operator 1 to design programs, coordinate services, and ensure visitors have a positive experience.

The role supports seniors by planning activities, coordinating meals and transportation, leading daily programs, and helping with service delivery, with hours 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Three months of experience providing direct services to aging populations or diverse groups, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• PA residency required; preference for residents of Carbon County.

This position supports seniors by planning programs, coordinating services, and ensuring that visitors have a positive experience at the center. As a Part-time Senior Center Operator 1, you will perform the following duties:

• Program Planning: Design activities, educational events, and nutritional programs that match the interests and needs of consumers
• Service Coordination: Arrange food deliveries, collect donations, and organize weekly meal packing for homebound seniors
• Activity Support: Lead daily programs, connect with speakers and presenters, and assist with serving prepared lunches
• Transportation Scheduling: Manage transportation arrangements for seniors who do not drive
• Program Evaluation: Track attendance, assess program success, and record data in required computer systems

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Part-time employment
• Work hours are 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday - Friday.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Three months of experience in providing direct services in a human services, education or a community based setting to the aging population or to individuals from various cultures and socio-economic backgrounds or to individuals who have physical, intellectual or emotional disabilities; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
