Job summary

Presbyterian Senior Services is seeking a full-time Custodian for its center in New York City. The role is responsible for keeping the facility clean, safe, and welcoming for older adults, families, and the community.

Responsibilities include daily cleaning, assisting with serving lunch when needed, basic repairs, and maintaining supplies. The position requires reliability, teamwork, and flexibility, with potential weekend/evening hours and multilingual ability considered a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Experience with and knowledge of current cleaning methods.
• Experience working with Older Adults is a plus.
• Bilingual fluency in English/Spanish desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness of the center at all times including bathrooms, offices and all common areas.
• Sweep, mop, strip and wax the floors.
• Paint center and perform minor repairs as needed.
• Clean large and small appliances and equipment.
• Notify Director of supplies needed.
• Clear entryway of snow or debris for safe access to center.
• Occasional weekends, holidays and evening hours may be required.
