Job summary

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking an engineer to independently plan and execute moderately-defined tasks related to researching, designing, standardizing, implementing, and validating wireless WAN air interfaces and modem technologies.

You will contribute to prototypes, standards, specifications, products, or components with a focus on performance (capacity, throughput, latency, power) and cost. Strong collaboration across teams is expected.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.

General Summary: This individual independently plans, performs the moderately-defined responsibility for the researching, designing, standardizing, implementing, optimizing, verifying, validating, and commercializing of Wireless WAN (or cellular) air interfaces, modem technologies, and related core network, as a prototype, standard, specification, product, or component within a product. Has expertise in the WWAN specifications and can design, optimize, and implement advanced wireless systems and modems. Works closely with the other functional groups to develop a cost effective, high quality and high capability air interface and modem meeting industry and customer requirements with high performance (e.g., capacity, coverage, throughput, latency, power consumption) and acceptable cost (e.g., silicon area, calibration complexity, code size). Acts as a strong contributor at design reviews and project meetings.

• Domestic and international travel required up to 25%

Will accept a Master's Degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related degree field.

Pay Range: $122,500.00 - $183,700.00/year
