Job summary

UCI Health, the clinical enterprise of the University of California, Irvine, seeks a CLIN DOC SPEC 4 HX GF to interpret clinical documentation and ensure accurate coding within our academic health system.

Required are RN or MD background, CDI experience, and strong communication with physicians. Collaboration across the health system and adherence to CMS/Joint Commission standards are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong clinical knowledge with ability to interpret clinical documentation.
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Must be available for occasional weekend coverage.
• Knowledge of laws, rules and regulations regarding clinical documentation.
• Five or more years of clinical experience as RN or Physician and 3 years in CDI.
• Familiarity with Utilization Review criteria and Joint Commission requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
