Lyft is seeking a Senior Data Scientist focused on causal inference to rigorously measure the incremental impact of product features. You will design experiments, build production-grade measurement pipelines, and partner with Product, Engineering, and Finance to guide strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Advanced quantitative background required (Master’s or PhD in Economics, Statistics, Applied Math, Computer Science or equivalent).
• 3+ years of applied data science experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with causal methods, evaluation strategies, and counterfactual analysis.
• Ability to align cross-functional partners and influence technical architecture.
• Excellent ability to articulate complex causal concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Preferred: mentorship experience and leadership in scientific roadmaps.

Responsibilities

• Own complex incrementality measurement problems and translate launches into causal frameworks.
• Lead high-impact causal inference initiatives and develop advanced measurement techniques.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Finance to define the technical vision for evaluating innovation.
• Design and deploy production-grade measurement systems and causal models pipelines.
• Establish evaluation frameworks ensuring sustainable, incremental growth.
• Build reusable science infrastructure and best practices for causal discovery.
• Mentor junior/mid-level scientists on experimental design and modeling.
