Job summary

BJ's Wholesale Club in Marlborough, MA is seeking a Sr. Category Merchant to lead category strategies, drive sales and margins, and manage vendor relationships. You will guide the merchandise team and partner with cross-functional groups to execute plans.

The role is hybrid with in-office days in Marlborough and remote days on other days. Strong negotiation, analytical and communication skills are essential, as is a Bachelor’s degree (MBA optional) and 7+ years of merchandising experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required.
• MBA is optional and may be preferred for some candidates.
• Experience in merchandising/category management strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned categories, establish category strategies and objectives.
• Develop business objectives, sales, margin and inventory plans.
• Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors, building strong relationships.
• Lead the merchandise team and provide guidance and development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure strategy execution.
• Drive growth, category profitability and customer experience.
