Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a Senior Category Manager to lead category management for the Kroger business.

You will leverage shopper, market, and retailer data to develop strategies across Packaged Meats and Deli, partnering with Kroger merchants and internal teams to identify opportunities in assortment, pricing, promotion, and growth. The role requires strong analytical and executive communication skills, with responsibility for mentoring the team and advancing category management

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
• MBA preferred
• 2+ years of leadership or project leadership experience
• 5+ years of experience using syndicated data sources (Nielsen, Circana/IRI) or similar platforms
• Proven success in category management and category captaincy
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

• Serve as the category management lead and trusted advisor for the Kroger business
• Analyze data from Kroger 84.51 On Demand, Stratum, syndicated datasets and shopper insights to drive growth
• Develop strategies related to assortment, shelving, merchandising, pricing, promotion and distribution
• Lead category reviews, joint business planning, and senior leadership updates
• Build dashboards, scorecards, and reporting tools to monitor key metrics and risks
• Mentor team members and elevate category management capabilities
